Rinngs Interview


First off, who are you and what genre of music do you make?

Nai: We are Rinngs, he’s Karl and I’m Nai. The genre is a sort of mash-up of pop, choral, modern R&B and a bunch of other things. Alternative pop maybe?

If you had to describe your music with a color, what would it be?

Nai: Pastel neon turquoise

What’s the biggest struggle you have when it comes to creating?

Karl: Finding time to finish things. There’s never enough hours in the day and you always want to be working on the next thing.

If you could play any show in the world, what would it be?

Nai: Got to be Glastonbury.

What do you consider your biggest musical success?

Karl: Doing this for a living.

What inspired you to start making music?

Nai: I don’t think either of us remembers starting making music, we just always have done it so there so there didn’t seem that many other options.

If you could hear any person living or dead sing to you, who would it be?

Nai: Marvin Gaye, his ‘blissed out’ tones would be dreamy!

Who, aside from any band or musician, is your biggest influence?

Karl: Google.

What’s your favorite book?

Karl: Right now probably Kurt Vonnegut, “Timequake”.

What do you like to do other than music?

Karl: Sit in the sun talking shit with friends.

Who is your favorite musical artist?

All time artist has to be Prince. The body of work is incredible.

What’s one piece of advice you have for young musicians?

Learn to sing…live!

Lastly, what’s your lucky number?

1 billion.
